There were fireworks after every score just like during the previous games. I was nervous all day. Who would have thought? 5 years ago I had no interest in football, didn't understand the game and was just bored watching it. Boy has that changed. I was on the edge of my seat, had a few beer to calm my nerves, during the second half I had to take a Baldrian (a german herbal nerve calmer) I thought my heart would jump out of my chest. I was on the phone with my friend Aline and we drank together, since they always tell you that you have a problem if you drink alone :)The second half got much better and we won, yes indeed! For the first time in franchise history did our New Orleans Saints win a Superbowl. The Fireworks started to go off. People ran in the streets screaming, driving down the streets in their cars, leaning out the window, screaming even louder. We are the World Champions!!
After the game we went to the Sports Academy to get some Championship shirts. The line was long, but the wait well worth it. It almost reminded me of standing in line to get into a grocery store after Katrina, only this time people didn't ask "How did you make out from the storm" instead, they were happy and yelled 'WHO DAT'The New Orleans mayor didn't do much during his 2 terms, one of the best things he did that people will remember him by . . . Organize a "Saints" parade, win or lose, well in this case we WON!! a parade was schedule for Tuesday afternoon. We left work at 11.30, there was no way I was going to miss this and headed down town. We stood right at the beginning of the route at Poydras and Loyola, it was freezing cold, but I'd do it again in a heart beat.
The mayor-elect, Mitch Landrieu's float was one of the first to pass us.
Followed by the Benson Family
Drew had a blast. We were right on the street and had a really good view of all the players.
This is the coaches float. Sean Peyton was in the back holding up the trophy. He never let go of it. Later on during a toast he handed it to his wife, had a sip of champagne and took it right back, I think he'll never let it go again.
Garrett Hartley kicked the saints into the Superbowl during the game against the Vikings. When he was up to kick, I said that, if he missed, he'd better not walk onto the streets of New Orleans, if he made it, he'd be a hero forever!! . . . Hartley became the first kicker in Super Bowl history to convert three field goals of 40 yards or more, way to go for a 23 year old!!

Marques Colston threw me some beads!! I put them in a zip log back and put his name and date on there :)

These guys had the best time of their lives!!

Pierre Thomas

And of course, Reggie Bush

The crowd at the parade route was estimated to be around 800,000 people. The players were in awe that this many people came to see them.
They've been all around town, it seems like they haven't stopped. Drew Brees was on several tv shows throughout the week and still found time to stop at children's hospital to visit his friends.
Mardi Gras will never be better!!
