I got this picture off of their website: http://www.oakalleyplantation.com/
I just couldn't get a nice shot with all them people in the picture.

It's a really cool place to visit. Ever since I watched 'Gone with the wind' when I was a little kid, I dreamed of living in a Mansion, wearing those fancy dresses, going to dances and drinking tea in the afternoon while sitting in a rocking chair on the front porch watching people work . . . I did say that I was dreaming, right :)
I am sooo glad my husband is from the south . . . and I get to at least live where all these great Plantations are.
This is where the current Plantation Director lives - I could deal with that.
We took a tour of the Mansion and I got to take a picture before they told us that no one was allowed to take pictures.
These are some of the car's the last owner left behind.

They also have a nice sized gift shop and a restaurant. We walked around the tents and checked out all the crafts and ate some crawfish etouffee and fried catfish.
We've been looking for some piece of art for some time now to hang on the red wall in the kitchen. Emile spotted this one and I loved it:
It was such a beautiful day. It was a little cool at first, but I was so glad that I left my jacket in the truck. Don't know how those people could stand wearing them . . . it got kind of hot.
They also had awesome Mint Julep's . . . I'll have to have me another one here shortly!!
Cheers!!
