A sunny day in the 'ssippi

Since our house is still a mess and the day was too pretty to spent it sitting in the bedroom watching tv we decided to take a ride to Mississippi. We ate brunch at our favorite casino, the Hard Rock. We tried our luck with the slots but it wasn't on our side. Oh well . . . we had fun anyway. This is the view of the bay: We saw this sign for gas on the way there and had to stop on the way back. When was the last time you saw gas for $2.02???? . . . in forever!! Good thing we had the truck so we could buy lots of it!!

We split the drive

This is the twin span bridge. Some of the spans collapsed during Katrina and somehow they pulled some of the pieces out of the water and put them back together and repaired a few parts using metal bridge sections. I know scary but we've been over them many times and they seem to hold up. . . they are building a new set of spans right to the left.

The construction part of the kitchen remodel should be completed by the end of the week.
