It's a hot one!

I can't remember it being this hot ever. It's been 100F every friggin day for the last 2 weeks. It hasn't rained in forever.
I like it hot, don't get me wrong, I complained about the cold in Germany but I can't take the heat as I used to.

A heat advisory has been issued for almost every parish in the state.

Issued by The National Weather Service New Orleans/Baton Rouge, LA 4 pm CDT, Mon., Jun. 22, 2009

A HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT TUESDAY.

A STRONG AREA OF HIGH PRESSURE IN THE UPPER LEVELS OF THE ATMOSPHERE OVER THE GULF SOUTH WILL CONTINUE TO BRING VERY HOT TEMPERATURES TO THE REGION THROUGH WEDNESDAY. HIGH TEMPERATURES TUESDAY IN THE UPPER 90S TO NEAR 100 DEGREES COMBINED WITH MODERATELY HIGH RELATIVE HUMIDITY LEVELS WILL RESULT IN AFTERNOON HEAT INDICES IN THE 105 TO 112 DEGREE RANGE. THESE OPPRESSIVE CONDITIONS CAN INCREASE THE RISK OF HEAT RELATED ILLNESS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
THE EXCESSIVE HEAT AND HUMIDITY WILL MAKE A DANGEROUS COMBINATION FOR INDIVIDUALS IF PROPER PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN. EXCESSIVE HEAT KILLS PEOPLE BY TAXING THE HUMAN BODY BEYOND ITS ABILITIES TO COOL ITSELF. IN A NORMAL YEAR... ABOUT 175 AMERICANS DIE FROM THE HEAT.

THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION. CHILDREN... THE ELDERLY... AND PEOPLE WITH CHRONIC AILMENTS ARE USUALLY THE FIRST TO SUFFER FROM THE HEAT. HEAT EXHAUSTION... HEAT CRAMPS... OR IN EXTREME CASES... HEAT STROKE MAY RESULT FROM PROLONGED EXPOSURE TO THESE CONDITIONS. FRIENDS... RELATIVES... OR NEIGHBORS SHOULD CHECK ON PEOPLE AT RISK.

We just got done cutting the grass and are about done for tonight. I couldn't do it all at once, I had to come inside twice to cool off. Rufus who loves laying in the sun stayed in the house on the cool tiles. The A/C has been running for hours, it doesn't go off until 8 or 9 pm.
I think it's time for a nice little thunderstorm and a good Louisiana downpoor!!!

What in the world is wrong with you eating doggie biscuits? Has the heat made you lose your mind? I'm sure the Rufu doesn't want to share his eats with you so try to be good ok? Love, MIL

Hey Ellen,
When I was a child my mom use to hang the hose over the clothes line, turn it on and that was my summer shower....those were wonderful days for me.....days when I could get up out of bed without pain, creaks and things cracking....why is it if you're blessed you get wiser as you get older but then you are too old to do the things you wanted to do but never got the chance....life sure is strange huh?
Well, at any rate stay out of the heat and keep an eye on my son in the heat ok? He doesn't know when to give up when he wants to get something done like mowing the lawn. Love, Mom
