They came back the other morning for some more bread. Somehow they have figured out, that I always forget to bring the bread to them.
Rufus barked as usual, but then just sat in front of the door and watched them. They hung out for a little while, at one point the male was gone (we think they had a little duckie fight) and the female walked around by herself. Our neighbors gave her a bath with the hose since it was soo hot.
We haven't been doing a whole lot else this week. It's been raining almost every day which cools things off. We've also been cleaning out our freezer which became my July ritual after what happened to all of our frozen meat in 05. I don't even want a single ice cube in my freezer if we have to leave for a Hurricane. Whatever we do have we'll just bring to work in a cooler. You wouldn't believe all the stuff people bring. They bring their meat and a BBQ pit and get their grill on.
Not sure what we'll be doing this weekend. One side of the new Twin Spans opened today. We'll find out how they work for us when we go out that way for my birthday.

awwwwwwwww! do you guys have a pond or lake really close by? i wonder what makes those ducks come to you?!
They are always in the canals all around the city. One morning we had a huge turtle infront of the door. I have no idea why they always come up to our house, maybe because they get fed?
I am thinking about all the other stuff living in those canals and hope that the duckies and turtles are the only ones coming to my door!!!
They like you and yes, the food may have SOMETHING to do with that. we got a bird's nest outside next to our bedroom window. them darn birds make noise all night. i went into the attic, dan went on the roof. we could not find the nest. it must be in some little space somewhere. we haven't had any good rem sleep in a while. when i went into the attic my cat was up there going crazy around the area where we think the nest is, so we know something is there. dan's ready to make bird stew!!! and so am i!!! see, you are nice to the animals, we are not. :-)
