San Antonio - Day 2

Here's some more from our trip to San Antonio. On our second day we checked out the Air Force Bases. First we went to Lackland AFB
This is where Emile went for Basic Training, many many years ago. Visiting brought back memories, he showed me where his quarters were and how far they had to walk every day. Here are the planes he worked on during his career. The A-10 was the first and the last one he worked on when stationed at Davis Monthan AFB in Tuscon, Osan AFB in Korea and his last assignment, Spangdahlem AFB, Germany.

He worked on the F-16 in Spangdahlem, also. My favorite Jet.

He worked on the F-15 when stationed at Tyndall AFB in Florida.

We stayed at Randolph AFB for the remainder of our trip. It's outside of San Antonio and was very convienent on our drive back, since we didn't have to fight morning traffic.

Both bases are huge compared to the tiny NSA base here in NOLA.

We like to visit different Air Force Bases, it brings back so many memories. It'll be 6 year's this December since he retired and we're glad we can visit those places as retired folks :)
