San Antonio - Day 3

Our last day in San Antonio was reserved for a visit downtown. We started off at 'Mi Tierra' at the Market Square. http://www.mitierracafe.com/default.html
This place is amazing. It's open 24/7 and a must see when down there. The inside is so glamorous and busy, just hanging out and watching people is fun alone.

The bakery, OMG!! I have never seen so many goodies in one place!! Everything looked absolutely delicious!! The display counter was about 30 feet long. I wish I could have taken a bite out of every single pastry. I don't think they would have liked that so instead we had a mexican breakfast in the restaurant. The restaurant was decorated just as glamorous with decorated christmas trees all over the place and mariachi players walking through the restaurant. After breakfast we walked through the market. The market looks as if you were in Mexico. Tons of pottery and original mexican merchandise. From the market we walked back to the Riverwalk. The Riverwalk Mall is a decent size located right on the San Antonio River. There are gift shops and restaurants on both banks of the river.

We also took a River Cruise. Even though I've been to the Riverwalk many times, I never got to take a cruise. It was very relaxing and the captain did a great job telling us all about the history of the River and the City.

Before heading back to the hotel we stopped at the Alamo, another place I hadn't visited. As everybody who has visited the Alamo knows there is nothing to it but a whole lot of history. The gift shop is bigger than the building itself. But it's still a 'MUST SEE' while in SAT.

On our way back to NOLA we stopped at Ikea in Houston.

Traffic wasn't too bad and we made it home in about 8 hrs. Another city checked off of our bucket list.
