Another Update 9/1 - 9.00 am

Here's an update on what's going on at the hospital:
Electrical Updates
as of September 1 at 8:00 AM
The hospital's primary feed to Energy is fluctating. Therefore we proactively switched to our standby generators.
Now that the facility is on generator power, we must conserve energy. Do not use microwaves, toasters or hair dryers. With the weather intensifying, it is imperative that everyone stay inside the facility. Humidity will create a safety issue.
All first responders, including EMS, fire and police, have suspended external operations until it is safe for the crews to travel in the community.

Winds have picked up . . . it's raining but nothing is flooding yet, no water on the roads. They just reported that there are power outages all around the parish. I just called our house phone and the answering machine picked up. YEAH!!! The longer the power stays, the better.

And again, thank GOD it's daylight!!

Hey,
I was looking at TV and they showed Grand Isle......it has four feet of water now and the trailers left from Katrina are now off of their blocks...the homes that are there seem to be holding on for now but I didn't know if you were near a TV or not. Take care
Love, Mom

I glad you are keeping this site updated, put me at ease a little. I wish you weren't there though.
May the Lord watch over you and keep you all stay. Love, Mom
