Gustav update 9/1 - 5.30 am

We just got up and I made some coffee. Emile already went to a briefing before his shift starts. We had a quiet night and slept pretty good actually. He already took Rufi for a walk, he seems to be calm. I'll take him again in 2 hours but will visit with him before that.

It's storming a little more and it's raining, but not more than during any of our 'normal' thunderstorms. They are expecting flooding on the westbank (we are on the eastbank). Keep your fingers crossed that we bring Rufi home tomorrow!!
I'll try to update again later, hopefully we won't loose power any time soon.

Hey Ellen & Emile,
Thanks for during this blog to let us know what's going on. You are in our prayers as always and I'm glad to know that the Rufi is doing well........he should has an exciting life living with you two...never knows where he's going to be from one day to the next. I know that having him near helps you both.
Ellen, again I want to thank you for doing this it helps put my mind at ease. I know you are both grown-ups but you are still my children, so with that being said God bless you all, and say prayers that this won't be too rough for anyone and that it will soon be over. I'm going to work today 3-7 but will check the blog when I get home around 7:30 call if you can so I can hear your voices and remember we love you both a lot!!!
Love always, Mom
