Rufi is at home 9/1 - 8.40 pm

We decided to take Rufus home at around 6 pm when Emile's shift ended. He was just not comfortable, he didn't want to eat and had diarrhea. We are still under curfew until further notice so acutally nobody is supposed to be on the streets. Emile spoke to two of the JPSO officers that were here and they told us that we could go, the streets were clear.
When we left the hospital we saw some on the storm damage. Nothing flooded so it was wind damage only. The power was out, of course and many trees were down, not in the street, mostly smaller trees in front of peoples houses. Most fences were down as well.

We have some damage at our house. Shingles came of the roof, as well as some of the siding. Both of our front gates are like tooth picks. One of the trees in the backyard is pretty beat up, too.
We already spoke to our insurance and they will send someone out to check it out. I am really not worried about it. I am just glad that Rufi is home and seems so much happier.

We did have water that was blown into the house. Thank God I put towels on the inside of the door before we left. They were soaked. Some water was in the living room. We put up all the furniture, so it was cleaned up in a minute.
Thanks to our mayor we didn't have any rising water damage, he came by and cleaned out our drain in front of the house. One of our neighbors who stayed told us, that he came by to check out the city. They also have Kenner's Finest patrolling the streets so it's pretty safe for Rufi to be out there.
We are getting ready to get some sleep, we've been up since 5 am.

Hallo Ellen,

LG
Nadine

Hey guys,
I'm glad you are alright. I was also sorry to hear about the Rufus not doing too well. I'm sure he's happy to be in his own home, with all of his own things around him. Seems like you all are doing very well and have everything under control....the damages are small and can be taken care of sooner then when Katrina came by the house...
When will you be going home? Just keep in touch with me so I'll know ok? Will you go home even though you have no power? Until we talk again please take care of each other and you are in my thoughts and prayers...Love, Missouri Mom
